Eastern Tech High School offers a myriad of electives both required and optional. The electives offered can be one semester or full year courses and are provided by numerous departments. Each student is required to complete a fine art and physical education class before graduation.

1. Students interested in Science may elect to take the following classes.

     - The Science Department at Eastern Technical High School is committed to providing each student with the fundamental knowledge of science required for their career majors, for preparation for college, and for decisions that they will make in later years as scientifically literate citizens. Course offerings in the Science Department include all required sub-disciplines of Science: Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, and Physics. Biology and chemistry are offered at the standard, honors and gifted and talented levels. Physics is currently offered at the standard and honors level with plans to implement a gifted and talented physics course in the school year. Electives offered include an honors level Anatomy and Physiology course as well as Environmental Science and Forensic Science.
     - The sequence of courses follows the needs of students in their career majors and assures them of receiving the required three years of science instruction, although many students take four years of science as a career major requirement or as an elective.
     - Members of the Science Department recognize the importance of using technology within all courses. Students are provided with the opportunity to use various types of software, including laboratory simulations, tutorials, and graphical analysis programs. Students use a variety of sensing devices to take measurements in lab settings and transfer the data collected directly to computers in the lab in order to print and evaluate their findings in text or graph form.

2. Students interested in Physical Education may elect to take the following classes.
     - Eastern Tech offers a Physical Education courses, both required and optional. It is mandatory for each to take the Fitness Foundations Mastery and a health course. Elective courses that students may take are Weight Training and Weight Training for Athletes.

3. Students interested in English may elect to take the following classes.
     - Theater arts electives and an active drama club which offers two full productions yearly
     - Technical writing elective offered in many Career Majors
     - Journalism elective responsible for the school newspaper, The Maverick Express
     - Yearbook elective charged with recording each year's accomplishments in every area of school life - The Maverick

4. Students interested in Math may elect to take the following classes.
     - After completing required classes such as Algebra and Geometry, students who desire have a number of elective classes to choose from, including Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry, College Algebra, Calculus, and Statistics.

5. Students interested in Art may elect to take the following class.
     - Fundamentals of Art, a general art course that focuses on drawing and painting as well as on learning the basics of art. In this class, students learn to understand and discuss artworks as well as to create them.

6. Students interested in Music may elect to take the following classes.
     - Music for Life, a general music class that emphasizes appreciation and understanding of music through listening and classroom performance experiences.
     - Chorus, which is dedicated to the performance of choral repertoire and the proper training of the voice.
     - Concert Band, which is dedicated to the performance of concert band repertoire and training students on their chosen band instrument.

7. Students interested in Social Studies may elect to take the following classes.
     - Latin, a required course for incoming Allied Health students.
     - Facing History: Holocaust, This semester course covers the events of the Holocaust.
     - Psychology, The final elective in the social studies department at Eastern Technical High School is Psychology. This course, which stresses neurobiology, is a natural complement for Tech's Allied Health students.

8. Students interested in Web design may elect to take the following class.
     - Digital Imaging, a GT program that focuses on web design. In this class student learn how to use programs such as Dreamweaver, Fireworks, and Flash to create aesthetically pleasing websites.

9. Students interested in Business may elect to take the following classes.
     - AP JAVA Programming, Business Management, Computer Information Processing I (keyboarding), Computer Information Processing II (software applications), and Accounting.
