February

· Review your PSAT score report. Use it to improve your skills for the SAT

· Use your collegeboard.com I.D. and password to access SAT practice tests

· Use the SAT Prep Center on collegeboard.com to prepare for the SATs

· Consider AP courses for your senior year to better prepare yourself for college level work

· Meet with your counselor to complete and verify registration card course selections for your senior year at Eastern

March

· Registration deadline for May SAT: March 31 st

· Use www.collegeboard.com to do a college search online

· Plan to visit a few colleges this spring while they are in session, check their web sites for open house and tour information

· Think about which college characteristics are important to you (Location, Size, Academics, etc.)

· Attend Junior College Night on March 15 th at ET!

April

· Registration deadline for June SAT: April 28 th

· Start preparing for AP Exams in May. Do well and receive college credit at most colleges.

· Start to look for a great summer job related to your interests. One of the best ways to find opportunities is simply by asking people you know, a.k.a. networking. Start with your parents, friends, teachers, counselor, and relatives. They may have suggestions you haven't thought of, and may know people you can contact for more information.

· Take a full length practice SAT at Collegeboard’s SAT Preparation Center

May

· May 6 th the SAT is administered

· Create a resume of your accomplishments, activities, and work experiences

· Contact colleges for information

June

· June 3 rd the SAT is administered

· Request applications, brochures, and financial aid information from colleges

· Register at www.fastweb.com for scholarship information

· Visit college campuses (large, small, public, and private) and remember to call ahead for tour times and open house dates

July & August

· Register early for Fall SATs

· Request applications, brochures, and financial aid information from colleges

· Continue to visit college campuses

· Narrow your college choices down to approximately five. Some students send as many as 15 applications, while others send only one. To ensure a successful match, apply to a diverse group of schools and be realistic about the strength of your application.
